The Running Network for Media Professionals
Welcome to Our Blog!
As a long-time blogger, I've always had a rule about NOT publicizing sites with blogs when the only blog post is, "Welcome to our Blog." Yet, in the haste/rush/excitement to get this particular site launched, that's exactly what we've done here.
So, what is the World Media Run? That's easy - it's a 5k event, technically open to everyone but marketed specifically to media professionals.
Why Media Professionals? Because we're a bunch of media professionals who like to run and by designing an event that brings our hobbies and work together, we're able to work on our hobby during day-time hours. Clever, eh?
Where is the race? The "flagship" race will be held @ the FOLIO: Publishing Summit in Miami on February 20. But realizing that some of you love to run in the ice, cold and snow, you can run the World Media Run anywhere and still have your time counted for an award and still get a cool World Media Run tech shirt.
Why this Website? Good question. There are plenty of great running sites. There are also plenty of great media sites. Is there room for a site for media professionals who want to talk running? Or for runners who want to talk about the media? We hope so! So jump in, join the party and register for the race. February will be here before you know itt!
